Chase resident wins top prize on SportsFunder ticket

August 25, 2008, Kamloops, BC - British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) is pleased to congratulate Colleen Patterson on winning the top prize of $75,000 on SportsFunder's First Tickets to 2010 lottery ticket.

Patterson, a Chase resident, received the SportsFunder tickets for her birthday.

"I scratched them that day and thought I'd only won $2," Colleen explained. "I put them aside and left them until I could go back to the retailer to double check them."

When she took her tickets in to get checked, the lady validating it informed her she'd won big - $75,000 big.

"Well, I just about fainted," added the mother of three. "I just started shaking. It was beyond anything I could have imagined! I don't know how I didn't see it right away."

Currently, the only way to get tickets to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games is to win through playing SportsFunder lottery games. There are currently three SportsFunder games with opportunities to win tickets to 2010 Winter Games, Gold Medal Hockey, Gold Medal Figure Skating, and Share the Dream.

Proceeds from the sale of SportsFunder lottery games support amateur sports in B.C. through KidSport™, Team BC, Youth Sport Travel Assistance, and Coach and Leadership Development.
