turning dreams into reality

Early-Bird Millionaire Life winner

Early-Bird Millionaire Life winner Kamloops, B.C., March 4, 2009 – He may not be psychic, but Michael Strudwick of Kamloops can certainly pick a winner.

The 39-year-old, who 'sensed' his Millionaire Life ticket was a lucky one, wound up winning $100,000 on the Millionaire Life 'Early-Bird' draw on February 28, 2009.

"I just had a feeling I was going to win something," said Michael. "I was still completely shocked when I found out just how much I'd won."

The lucky ticket was purchased at Sergeant O'Flaherty's Cold Beer and Wine store in Kamloops, where Michael returned to check his numbers.

"The terminal froze and $100,000 came up on the player's screen," he recalled. "The retailer couldn't believe I'd won that much and came around to look at the screen with me."

Michael broke the good news to his wife, Cosmin, while claiming his prize this week at BCLC.

"I called my wife and told her I was sitting in the 'Winners Lounge' at BCLC," he said. "She was surprised and thrilled."

Michael plans on sharing his good fortune with his family and may travel to Jamaica to visit his wife's family.

In addition to Michael's winning ticket, two more winning Millionaire Life draw tickets worth $100,000 each were sold in Kamloops last month. So far, neither prize has been claimed.

Millionaire Life is the nationwide lottery game offering a guaranteed top prize of $1,000,000 a year for 25 years. Available January 26 to February 28, 2009, with tickets purchased before February 14, 2009 eligible to win one of 14 'Early-Bird' prizes of $100,000.
