Surrey couple experience 'butterflies' over 'Set For Life' win Richmond, B.C., May 6, 2009 – A 60-year-old Surrey man is now "Set For Life" after winning the top prize on BCLC's Set For Life instant Scratch & Win ticket.

"In these tough economic times, having a win like this could not have been better timed!" said James De Klerk, who matched three winning symbols on his Set For Life ticket to earn the top prize of $1000 each week for 25 years. James has decided to take the lump sum of $675,000.00.

James and his wife, Judith, say they plan to use the windfall to pay off the mortgage on their home, before discussing what to do with the rest.

"We're still in shock," said Judith. "I get butterflies every time I start to think about what this money can do for us."

"Life is expensive and I am a sensible guy," said James. "This will sure make things a little easier."

The winning ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven at Royal Oak and Rumble in Burnaby.
