Richmond Winterfest visitor wins gold medal tickets May 14, 2009, Richmond, BC - Christina Chong of Richmond has won of a pair of gold medal tickets to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games. While attending the Richmond Winterfest during the one-year countdown, Chong visited the BCLC 2010 Winter Games Dome and entered her name into the ballot box to win the pair of men's 1500m Speed skating event tickets.

"I'm so excited, and very surprised. I was hoping to win but the ballot box was so full I didn't think I had a chance," exclaimed Chong. "This is a once in a lifetime opportunity."

"The BCLC 2010 Winter Games Dome gave the public an opportunity to experience the spirit and excitement of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games," said Richmond Centre MLA Olga Ilich. "And now courtesy of BCLC, Christina gets to enjoy the excitement live at the gold medal 1500m Speed skating event right here in Richmond."

"Winterfest was a complete success that everyone will remember for a long time, especially Christina Chong," said Richmond East MLA Linda Reid. "With less than one year to go, you can feel the excitement building."

During February 2009, the BCLC 2010 Winter Games Dome visited winter festivals in six B.C. communities, including Kamloops, Richmond, Vernon, Victoria, Nanaimo, and Surrey.

"Our Olympic Oval is the most outstanding of all the new Olympic venues," said Richmond-Steveston MLA John Yap. "And as the world watches next year, Christina Chong will be sitting front row with her gold medal tickets. She is in for an amazing experience."

As an Official Supporter of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, BCLC is helping send thousands of British Columbians to the 2010 Winter Games through SportsFunder scratch and win tickets.
