East had to come West before luck struck
Richmond, B.C., August 5, 2009 – One Ontarian is proving that it's not where you're from but where you are that matters most.
Thunder Bay native Lori-Ann Theriault moved to B.C. a few weeks ago with her husband, and was out distributing resumes when she dashed into the Terminal Chevron Town Pantry in Nanaimo and purchased a Monopoly™ Scratch & Win ticket.
"I jumped back in the car and scratched the ticket," recalls Theriault. "I couldn't believe it was a winner. I was in shock and had to get my husband to double check the ticket!"
It turns out that Theriault had won the game's top prize of $200,000.
The new B.C. resident is unsure of how she will spend her winnings, but is sure she is going to enjoy her first summer in the province with the extra pocket money.
And that is how the West is won!
Monopoly™ is a $10 Scratch & Win ticket featuring a top prize of $200,000. Overall chances to win a prize on Monopoly™ are 1:2.93. Players can purchase tickets at any lottery retailer.
