how to play electronic Blackjack

This popular card game is available to play on an electronic machine with a virtual dealer in select Chances locations. The basic rules of blackjack still apply.

How to Play

1. Player inserts his/her money, increasing their credits

2. Player bets the amount of credits he/she desires for each wager.

3. The game is played from the players right to left (while facing the game), similar to a real game.

4. Player is dealt two cards face up while the dealer receives one card face down and another card face up.

5. Face (court) cards count 10 each; aces count as 1 or 11, at the option of the player; all other cards take their number value.

Before Player’s act on their cards:

6. If the dealer’s face up card is a 10, the dealer will check his face-down card. If the face-down card is an ace, the dealer will turn it over and the deal is ended. Players with total card values of 21 push, and all other players lose their bets.

7. If the dealer’s face-up card is an ace, insurance is offered by the dealer to the players.

  • a. If the player takes insurance and the dealer has blackjack, the player loses his initial bet, but the player wins the insurance bet, which pays 2:1. Therefore, the player receives even money. The actual result is that no money changes hands between the dealer and the player.
  • b. If the player’s takes insurance and the dealer does not have blackjack, the player loses the insurance bet, and an ordinary game continues.

8. If the player wants additional cards after the first two, he/she can “HIT” or draw additional cards one at a time until he/she will “STAND” (want no more cards) or BUST (total card value goes over 21). If the latter occurs, the player loses.

9. After all the players complete their play, the dealer does so in accordance wit the Pay Table rules (see below). The dealer always hits on 16 or less and also hits on soft 17 (when the dealer’s 17 contains an ace that is counted as 11, the hand is known as a soft 17).

10. Once all players and the dealer complete their play, total card value is compared between the player and the dealer. Assuming neither the player nor the dealer has bust, the holder of the value closer to 21 is a winner. If only the dealer busts, the player wins regardless of his/her non-bust card value. If the player’s non-bust value is equal to that of the dealer, he/she will push, and the player’s bet is returned.

11. If the player’s first two cards total 21 (ace + face/10 card), the player has a blackjack and wins. If the dealer has a blackjack, the dealer wins.
